Some MFG Members are also DOC Quebec Members too.
HereŐs an interesting DOC event to check out:
(N.B. This is NOT an
MFG event. This is a posting for an interesting event around town that the MFG
is sharing with its members.)

The first DOC
Quebec meeting of the New Year promises to be very exciting and
informative.
Highlighted will be the new generation of
small-format HD cameras currently available, with filmmaker and DOP
Bill Kerrigan and editor David Oxilla discussing and demonstrating their recent
work using this new medium. Also, Dean Iacuessa from CEV and a SONY rep
will be on hand to show their latest gear and answer technical
questions.
DOC is a non-profit professional and advocacy organization
dedicated to supporting the art of independent filmmaking and filmmakers in
Canada. In 1993, DOC (formally known as the Canadian Independent Film
Caucus) founded the Hot Docs International Documentary Film and Video Festival,
now the largest event of its type in North America. More recently, DOC
was involved in founding les Rencontres Internationales du Documentaires de
MontrŽal, as well as the 2880 Film Blitz and Doc Circuit. DOC is also a
vocal lobbying body, maintaining visibility of the independent filmmaker
through government and industry representation. Events and services for
members, such as technical workshops, mentorships for emerging filmmakers,
screenings, and speakers' series are also organized and presented.
Proceeds will help the Quebec branch of DOC continue to
offer these services and events to the filmmaking community.
