Appel de projet : Programme d’accompagnement et de mentorat pour les artistes

MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels) lance la troisième édition de son programme d’accompagnement et de mentorat, mis en
place pour appuyer le travail d’artistes et d’organismes artistiques issus des communautés culturelles, dans leur avancée professionnelle tant
artistique qu’administrative.

Reconnu pour sa compétence à tisser des liens privilégiés avec les différents artistes, partenaires et communautés, le MAI a déjà accompagné
une centaine d’artistes qui ont bénéficié des services ponctuels ou du programme à moyen et long terme.

Le MAI propose notamment de conseiller des artistes en arts visuels et en arts de la scène, d’apporter un soutien administratif (ex : la rédaction de
demande de subventions et de budgets, la comptabilité), de donner un support technique (ex : la conception d’éclairage), de promouvoir des spectacles et
de publier des ouvrages ou supports multimédias. Le suivi se fait en fonction des besoins de chaque artiste.

Chaque année, 5 projets sont choisis pour le Programme d’accompagnement et de mentorat à moyen et long terme. Les demandes sont étudiées par un comité
de sélection et les critères de base sont les suivants :

* Être un artiste ou un organisme à but non
lucratif

* Œuvrer au niveau de la création artistique

* Être professionnel ou en voie de
professionnalisation

* Être issu des communautés culturelles

* Résider à Montréal

Conformément au mandat du MAI, les demandes doivent aussi s’inscrire dans une démarche interculturelle.

La date limite pour les appels de projet pour la saison 2007-2008 est le : 15 août 2007

Call for submissions : Guidance and Mentoring Program for artists

Deadline : August 15, 2007

MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels) launches the third edition of its Guidance and Mentoring Service, designed to help artists and artistic
organizations coming from cultural communities to grow as artists and administrators of their work.

Recognized for its ability to make strong ties between artists, partners, and communities, the MAI has already guided over a
hundred artists who have profited from occasional, short, and long term services.

In particular, the MAI advises artists in visual and performing arts, we give administrative help (eg : assistance in applying for grants, budget
making, accounting), offer technical support (eg : lighting design), promote shows, and publish books and multimedia tools linked to art projects. All in
all, the MAI’s service packages are tailored to the needs of each artist.

Each year, 5 projects are chosen for the Guidance and Mentoring Service in the short and long terms. Submissions are studied by a selection commitee
and every candidate is required to:

* Be an artist or a non-profit organization

* Work in the field of art

* Be an art professional or soon-to-be art
professional

* Come from a cultural community

* Live in Montreal

In keeping with the mandate of the MAI, projects must have an intercultural theme.

The deadline for project submissions for the season
2007-2008 is : August 15, 2007
