Feet Wet, Hands Dirty: A crash-course in documentary filmmaking

Many of us are making films, chronicling the intimate narratives of our own lives, watching and participating in offshoots like reality shows or documenting stories around us.  This will be a crash course in the history, process and creation of the documentary incorporating critical viewings, passionate discussion and ultimately a journey of discovery where both the collective and the individual narrative voice of each participant will be explored.
In three intensive sessions you will get your feet wet and your hands dirty (!) by investigate the theory and process-driven development of idea creation through screenings, discussion, and brainstorming. Shoot your own short documentary on cameras provided by the MediaWorkshop and finally, edit your short docs and learn the art behind pitching, selling and distributing your work.
