Mirth by moonlight!

On August 13, Silence, on court!, the NFB's short film platform, will present Fous rires et humour noir at the Théâtre de verdure in Parc Lafontaine. Get set for a side-splitting mixture of fiction and animation in these 21 shorts from Quebec and abroad. Prior to the show, laughter therapist Manuel Barbeau-Lavalette will warm up the crowd with his zany antics.

Whether your tastes run to slapstick or gallows humour, absurdity or burlesque, video clip or parody, there's plenty to tickle your funny bone in this hilarious program that's bound to win more than a few new short film fans. From crazy drivers to blondes, Star Trek fans to Star Wars fanatics, terrorism, Internet, and even short filmmakers themselves, nothing's too sacred for Fous rires et humour noir !

Last year, some 2,000 spectators enjoyed Admission générale , the short film program presented by Silence, on court! at the Théâtre de verdure . Fous rires et humour noir plays on August 13 at 8:30 p.m.   Admission is free. For more information, visit <www.silenceoncourt.tv>.

Silence, on court! <www.silenceoncourt.tv> is the largest French-language Web platform for short films in Canada.
