We are proud to announce that DNM's short film, Toutouffe, a
35mm project directed by Nicolas Wright, produced by Daniel
Lee
Archambault and Matthew Sewchuck, had its world broadcasting
premiere on CBC March 5, 2006 at 11:00 pm as part
of CBC's
Canadian Reflections programming. It will continue to be
part of
CBC's programming for the next three years. DNM has already
received phenomenal success with Toutouffe when it won the
very
first ever Special Jury Award at the 2005 Just
For Laughs
Festival. The film was an official selection at the 2006 OFF
COURT Film Festival in Trouville France, Barcelona International Film Festival
and the Festival des Trois Ameriques.
Toutouffe is the first chapter of a trilogy of shorts that
explores the
development of a human being from birth to death in western
society. Shaggy and bearded from months of being
stuck on a
median, Toutouffe becomes frustrated while farcically
rebelling
against the forces against him and ultimately
only succeeds at
getting into trouble. With the loving assistance of a wise
old friend,
he conquers his fears and gains the perspective necessary to
continue
his journey.
