YoungCuts 2006 Film Festival Now Accepting Submissions

The 2006 edition of the YoungCuts Film Festival will take place in Montreal and Toronto, in
August. YoungCuts showcases emerging filmmakers
under the age of 25, and serves as a launch pad for young film
careers, providing exposure and recognition for some of the most
exciting new talent in film from Canada and around the globe.

We are now accepting submissions for our 2006 Festival. Enter your
film(s) now, post your trailer and bio at our web site
( www.youngcuts.com), and your film could be on the big screen! Build
your resume online, network with other filmmakers and actors, market
your filmmaking talents, and show your work to a national audience.

The festival accepts films of all lengths and genres (see below for
submission fees).

We strongly recommend you use original music, royalty-free music, or
have written permission for non-original music. This will permit us
to promote your film through other media such as television and the
web.

Deadline for submissions: May 31, 2006

Awards: Prizes will be awarded for categories including: Direction,
Sound Editing, Acting, Film Editing, and Cinematography. Prizes will
be announced on our website.

Submission Guidelines: Entrants must be under 25 years old, as of Dec. 31, 2006.

Film Format: a MiniDV tape of your film, plus 2 DVD screeners.

Submission Fees:

To enter a feature film (75 minutes or less), the cost is $90 plus GST. ($45 for MFG Members)
To enter a short film (22 minutes or less), the cost is $60 plus GST. ($30 for MFG Members)
